Pluto Unveiled by Rob Rey - robreyfineart.com
Painted to commemorate humanity's first detailed glimpse of Pluto and it's moon, Charon, made in 2105 by the New Horizons spacecraft. It was an amazing accomplishment, and a momentous event to be alive for as the face of the dwarf planet became known to humans for the first time in history!

It takes light 4.6 hours to reach Pluto from Earth. To get a sense of just how far away that is, check out this great video by Wylie Overstreet and Alex Gorosh. At nearest approach, Pluto is about the same distance as Neptune.
